DC gearmotors provide high torque at low speeds, and are designed for use on unfiltered SCR (Thyristor) rectified AC input. They may also be used with PWM (pulse width modulated) DC variable speed drives or across-the-line applications. DC gearmotors are available in a variety of operating voltages and output shaft configurations. Replacement brush kits are available.

DC gearmotors enable powering a high-torque, low-speed load from a small-framed, low-voltage (12, 24, or 90VDC) DC motor. These gearmotors are usually controlled by a DC drive that outputs a power signal using SCRs or a PWM waveform.
