Universal gate boxes provide RFID-coded safety interlocking by fitting the leading edge of machine guard doors. These gate boxes provide a double tamper-resistant interlock, can be used in conjunction with delay timers, and are able to use 22mm pilot devices. Rear-release versions are available.

Gate boxes are integrated units used for secure, tamper-proof locking and control of areas protected with physical barriers. They are suitable for left- or right-hinged gates and offer a high level of safety for both personnel and equipment.

Networked Gate Boxes

IDEM UGB-NET networked universal gate boxes provide a CIP safety network connection to a safety PLC or a CIP Safety Networked device. This provides greater functionality and easier integration. Networked gate boxes combine solenoid locking, RFID-coded sensor, and integrated machine control functions in a robust die-cast aluminum housing.
- Provides position interlock detection for moving guards, keeping the guard locked until the unlock signal is received from the safety PLC
- Holds guards closed with up to a 3000N holding force
- Includes ESTOP button and three built-in illuminated buttons that are user-configurable, plus 5 colored lenses for additional flexibility
- Rear versions available in right- or left-hand mount
Universal Gate Boxes
IDEM Universal Gate Boxes are designed to fit the leading edge of machine guard doors/gates, providing robust guard locking and a double tamper-resistant interlock mechanism.
- Provide position interlock detection for moving guards, keeping the guard locked until voltage is applied.
- Holds guards closed with up to 3000N holding force
- Can be used in conjunction with delay timers
- Have the ability to incorporate 22mm pushbuttons, switches, or lamps
- Models available that support 2 or 4 pilot devices
- Rear release versions available
