Motor standstill safety relays provide standstill detection for single- or three-phase motors, by monitoring the remanence voltage (back EMF) of the motor signal. These 2-channel relays offer up to four safety outputs. Models are available that monitor both standstill and speed.

Motor Standstill Monitoring Safety Relays
Motor standstill monitoring safety relay modules provide safe standstill detection on 3-phase and single-phase motors. Access to the hazardous area of a system is only granted by the standstill monitor relay after the drive, motor, or shaft has completely stopped rotating. To detect a standstill, the remanence voltage induced by the motor windings is evaluated, providing safe standstill monitoring even if the motor/drive has already been switched off.
