Ultrasonic sensors emit a sound impulse and measure the elapsed time of the echo from an object. They sense most materials (metal, wood, plastic, glass, liquid, etc.) and are unaffected by color, transparency, shininess, or lighting conditions. Models are available with discrete (object detection) or analog (distance sensing) outputs, in sensing distances up to 8000mm.

Ultrasonic Liquid Level Sensors
SU, UK, UT and TU series round body and UQ series cubic plastic ultrasonic distance sensors emit a sound impulse and measure the elapsed time of the returned echo signal reflected from a detected object. The ultrasonic beam is well reflected by almost all materials (metal, wood, plastic, glass, liquid, etc.) and is not affected by colored, transparent, or shiny objects.
UHZ series thru-beam ultrasonic sensors use sound wave technology and are specifically designed for applications with limited mounting space. Thru-beam pair sensors are often the most accurate and reliable sensor configurations.
Ultrasonic sensors are ideal for applications in which the sensed object is made of clear, transparent or varying surface color materials. You can standardize on one sensor for many materials, without any extra setup or sensing concerns.
Flowline ultrasonic liquid level sensors replace float, conductance and pressure sensors and are available with single and multi-function capabilities including continuous level measurement, switching and control.

The Flowline EchoPod®, EchoSonic® II, Echotouch™, EchoSpan® and EchoSwitch® are innovative ultrasonic liquid level sensor families that replace float, conductance and pressure sensors that fail due to contact with dirty, sticky and scaling liquids in small, medium and large capacity tanks. These liquid level control sensors can be used in either open or enclosed tanks. PC software configured or pushbutton configured models are available.
