Inductive proximity sensors detect the presence of metal objects by monitoring changes in their emitted electromagnetic fields. When a metal object enters the sensing field, the sensor sends a signal to the controlling device. IO-Link capable sensors can also provide diagnostic, performance, and configuration data, helping optimize system performance across a variety of automation applications.
