IO-Link Photoelectric Sensors

Photoelectric sensors are used in a variety of object detection applications and activate when emitted light is interrupted or reflected by a sensed object. These sensors will send a signal back to the controlling device to indicate when an object is being detected. Wenglor and Contrinex brand IO-Link capable photoelectric sensors can also provide diagnostic, performance, and configuration data, along with the object detection signal, to the controlling device.

• General purpose photoelectric sensors are suitable for basic presence sensing applications with sensing distances up to 6000mm and an IP67 and/or IP68 rating
• Dark and shiny object detection sensors utilize blue light technology to detect the presence of very dark or shiny objects that basic photoelectric sensors would miss; available with sensing distances up to 400mm and an IP67/IP68 rating
• Clear object detection sensors accurately detect the minute change in light when a transparent object interrupts the beam path; available with sensing distances up to 4.2m and an IP67/IP68 rating
• Color sensors detect the color of an object by analyzing the reflected light from the object and can evaluate up to 3 colors simultaneously; sensing distance up to 600mm depending on optical fiber selection
• Distance sensors use triangulation or the return time of reflected laser light to determine the distance of an object from the sensor; sensing distances up to 3m
• Through-beam, diffuse, diffuse with background suppression, and retroreflective options are available
• Easily integrate IO-Link master modules, hubs, and their connected sensors/actuators with Productivity PLCs using task libraries available in the Productivity Suite programming software
