SureServo2 systems combine a high-performance servo motor with a servo amplifier (drive) to achieve extremely accurate position, velocity, or torque control. High-level automatic tuning offers a variety of modes for improving system performance. Select system size based on power/torque requirements. Choose components to create systems from 100W to 15kW
The AutomationDirect SureServo2 family of brushless servo systems is the newest edition of our flagship SureServo family. SureServo2 offers even more power and features (and at lower cost) than our previous offering (SureServo1). There are 26 standard permanent magnet servo motors that can be operated in combination with one of 16 standard servo drives:

Hardware Features:
- External encoder support provides full closed-loop control (i.e. to compensate for slippage between motor and load)
- 24-bit encoder has over 16 million PPR resolution (that's >46k pulses for ONE degree of motion). And the drive will scale to any input pulse resolution, while still maintaining this high degree of internal accuracy for all moves
- Absolute encoder (with battery backup) never loses position, even when drive power is disconnected
- Safe Torque Off (STO) for machine safety compliance without using bulky, expensive contactors

Why Use a Servo?

120/230V Motors, Drives and Cable Sets
The 120/230V systems provide flexibility and quick implementation with lower voltage power input.
Servo Drives:

- All SV2A-2xxx drives accept 230 VAC three-phase input power
- SV2A-2xxx drives up to 2kW accept 110 & 230 VAC single-phase input power

- Speeds up to 6,000 rpm
- Four medium inertia models:
- 1kW, 1.5W, 2kW, and 3kW

The 460V systems offer even more torque at high speed along with all the great features of the SureServo2 family.

- All SV2A-4xxx drives accept 460 VAC three-phase input power
Servo Motors:
- Five low inertia models:
- 400W, 750W, 1kW, 1.5kW, and 2.0kW
- Speeds up to 6,000 rpm
- One medium inertia model:
- 1kW
- Speed up to 3,000 rpm
- Six high inertia models:
- 3kW, 4.5kW, 5.5kW, 7.5W, 11kW, and 15kW
- Speeds up to 3,000 rpm
CN1 I/O Components
These accessories are required for interface to the on-board drive I/O (via the CN1 connector):
- Use the 50-pin DIN-rail mount terminal block to interface to ALL the drive I/O signals
- Choose from 3 cable lengths to locate the DIN-rail mount version
- Use the 20-pin, locally-mounted terminal block to connect the most common interface signals
Accessories
Optional accessories include Ethernet modules (Modbus TCP or EtherNet/IP), a toroid (EMI/RFI filter), communications cables, RS485 splitter and terminating resistor, and an encoder battery box and cable to enable absolute encoder functionality.
The drive can be programmed via the on-board keypad, but the free downloadable software (and a USB programming cable) offer greatly enhanced programming, backup, and troubleshooting options.
Replacement Fans
Replacement fans are available for all SureServo2 drives that include a cooling fan.
Connector Components
These connector parts can be used with the appropriate bulk cable to create custom servo cables. We strongly recommend that customers purchase our professionally manufactured cable sets for motor power, encoder feedback, and the optional holding brake, but there may be applications where the custom cables must be field-wired. Replacement mating connectors for various drive connections are also available.
