DC motors are designed for use with unfiltered SCR (Thyristor) type and PWM (pulse width modulated) type DC adjustable speed drives, and on across-the-line DC controls. These general purpose, permanent magnet DC motors, up to 2HP, are available in a variety of operating voltages.

DC Armature Motors (1/3hp and above)
- 56C / 90 VDC armature models in sizes from 1/3hp to 1-1/2hp
- 56C / 180 VDC armature models in sizes from 1/3hp to 2hp
- Input power of 115 or 230 volts rectified AC can be used with an appropriate SCR drive
- Linear speed/torque characteristics over entire speed range

Small Motors / 12-180 VDC (1/4hp and under)
Small frame IronHorse DC motors feature the same quality as their full-sized counterparts and are also designed for use with unfiltered SCR (Thyristor) type and PWM (pulse-width-modulated) type DC adjustable-speed drives, as well as across-the-line DC controls. These motors are useful for moving small loads when a compact framed motor is required.
