Specialty Modules

DC power specialty modules perform special functions that a single power supply cannot do alone. These modules allow for additional fail-safes to ensure continuous operation when power outages occur.

A battery control module is part of a battery backup system that also contains a power supply, batteries, and optional monitoring equipment. This system will keep the batteries charged under normal conditions, then seamlessly switch to battery operation on power loss.
Redundancy modules monitor parallel power supplies and switch to the backup when a failure occurs
A buffer module consists of large capacitive banks that release energy when the power source is removed. The module, installed in parallel with a power supply, provides temporary backup when a power failure occurs.

When combined with a DC power supply, RHINO battery control modules make the perfect DC UPS (uninterruptible power system) by providing the means to charge and monitor an external lead-acid battery.

Buffer Modules

RHINO buffer modules will maintain the output voltage of a 24 VDC power supply after brownouts or voltage dips for up to 4 seconds, depending on load.

Redundancy modules are used with two power supplies in parallel to create a redundant supply to prevent costly downtime due to power supply failure. Even if one power supply fails or becomes disconnected, the backup will supply the full current to the load.
