Temperature sensing devices provide temperature measurement and signals for monitoring or control. The most common sensing methods include thermocouples and resistance temperature devices (RTD).
Temperature switches offer simple temperature monitoring and control with easy setup via mechanical adjustment dials. An extremely durable housing and no moving parts make these switches very reliable, available with measuring ranges up to 284 °F (140 °C).
Digital temperature switches / transmitters combine a precision RTD sensing element, measuring electronics, and process fitting in a stainless-steel probe. An integral digital display offers convenient local readout. Transmitters are available in various probe lengths and process fittings.

Temperature sensors vary the voltage or resistance in a circuit relative to the temperature of its surroundings. Common sensor types are thermocouples, RTDs, and thermistors. Thermocouples generate a millivolt signal, while RTDs and thermistors use resistance values to represent the measured temperature. A wide range of probe and installation styles are available.
These temperature transmitters conveniently combine a precision RTD and transmitter in a single stainless-steel body. Available in three pre-configured measuring ranges, they are ready to use out-of-the-box or can be custom configured using the free XT-SOFT software.
Thermocouple and RTD transmitters accept popular sensor types and measurement ranges and provide current outputs. Universal models also accept millivolt and potentiometer inputs. These units are ideal for wiring and extending signals to controllers.
Infrared pyrometers allow temperature measurement in applications where non-contact sensing is required by detecting an object's infrared radiation level. Available in a selection of cable lengths and analog output types, these sensors come preconfigured and ready to use out of the box.
Thermowells provide a convenient method to insert or remove temperature probes without interrupting the process being measured. These drilled bar stock one-piece units (no welds) are made from 304 or 316 stainless steel.
Thermocouple extension wire is critical for maintaining signal integrity when extending sensor signals; specially constructed RTD wire offers superior performance compared to off-the-shelf cable. Extension cable is available in various insulation types with ASTM/ANSI color coding and can be ordered cut to your specific length.
