Air-to-air heat exchangers use a closed-loop system that exchanges heat inside the enclosure with outside air to maintain a set internal temperature, providing a contaminant-free environment and protecting electrical components from overheating. Models are available for various cooling capacities.

Air-to-Air Heat Exchangers
Air-to-air heat exchangers are closed loop cooling systems that utilize ambient air for convective cooling of a heat transfer core, providing a closed-loop cooling solution for applications where the ambient temperature is sufficient to cool the enclosure without the use of refrigerant.
Heat exchanger cores may be either heat pipes or aluminum plates.

Stratus Air-to-Air Heat Exchangers
Stratus heat exchangers have a top-to-bottom enclosure air flow pattern with maximum separation of the inlet and outlet. This design pulls the hottest air from the top of the enclosure and returns the cooled air from the bottom of the heat pipe to the enclosure. The air flow on the ambient side is bottom in, top out, so that the hotter discharge air moves up and away rather than being recirculated. The units use aluminum end plates and baffles which improve conduction and reduce corrosion for longer life.

Saginaw Air-to-Air Heat Exchangers
Saginaw Enviro-Therm® air-to-air heat exchangers transfer heat using either heat pipes or an aluminum plate to transfer heat from inside the enclosure to the external ambient environment.
The internal fan is always on, and the external fan is operated by an included programmable controller. When the temperature inside the enclosure increases above the thermostat setting, the external fan switches on and the heat exchanger starts cooling until the temperature inside the enclosure cools below the thermostat setting.
The low-maintenance counterflow heat exchangers are finless to reduce chance of clogging, and are easier to clean.
