Air-to-water heat exchangers use a supply of tempered water to draw heat from the air, which is carried away while the cooled air is recirculated back into the enclosure. A closed-loop system cools and protects enclosed devices from corrosive ambient air and environmental contaminants.

Air-to-Water Heat Exchangers

Air-to-water heat exchangers are closed-loop cooling systems that require a source of chilled liquid to cool. With a cold source of fluid, these units have high cooling capacity and low energy usage in a small footprint. They can be a very effective option when the ambient air temperature is high or the atmosphere is corrosive.
Pfannenberg PWS series air-to-water heat exchangers are specifically designed for effective thermal management in environments characterized by high ambient temperatures, chemically aggressive atmospheres, or high concentrations of airborne particulates. In environments where a source of tempered water is available, air-to-water heat exchangers provide closed-loop enclosure cooling in place of refrigerant-based air-conditioners with higher reliability and lower energy costs.
