Permanent Magnet AC (PMAC) motors provide a smaller footprint and higher efficiency at lower speeds and partial loads compared to standard AC induction motors. These motors are designed for use only with a VFD capable of controlling a PMAC motor, and cannot be controlled with an across-the-line motor starter.

Permanent Magnet AC (PMAC)
Permanent magnet AC motors (PMAC) provide a smaller footprint and higher efficiency even at lower speeds and partial loads, when compared with induction motors. PMAC motors can only be used with a VFD. PMAC motors are a cost-effective way to increase efficiency and reduce space requirements.
