Exhaust Silencers
An exhausting valve or cylinder port can be outfitted with exhaust silencers to quiet the sound of the escaping air and protect the system from dirt and debris. Silencers are available in brass cone, brass flat, and plastic bodies with NPT, BSPT, BSPP, or M5 threaded connections.

Pneumatic exhaust silencers, also called pneumatic mufflers, thread into exhaust ports on directional control valves and other pneumatic components to reduce exhaust noise and help limit contaminants from entering open ports. Bronze and plastic styles are offered with NPT, BSPT, BSPP, and M5 connections, depending on the product family, with differences in construction, pressure capability, airflow, and physical profile to support a range of pneumatic exhaust applications.

Bronze Exhaust Silencers
SBC and SBF series bronze exhaust silencers reduce compressed-air exhaust noise while helping block debris from open valve and cylinder ports. SBC cone models provide greater than 20dB noise reduction, while lower-profile SBF flat models provide greater than 30dB. Both families are rated to 150 psi (10 bar) with M5 x 0.8 and 1/8 to 1/2in threaded connections.
- SBF flat models measure 0.35 to 0.71in long, compared with 0.47 to 1.10in for SBC cone models where exhaust-port clearance affects selection
- 40-micron filtered elements combine exhaust silencing with protection against dirt and debris entering open pneumatic ports

Acetal exhaust silencers provide cylindrical exhaust silencing with 1/8 to 1/2in male NPT or 1/4 to 1/2in male BSPP connections and a maximum operating pressure of 174 psi (12 bar). Published Cv values are 0.7 at 1/8in, 1.0 at 1/4in, 1.7 at 3/8in, and 1.5 at 1/2in, allowing selection by port thread, connection size, and exhaust-flow requirement.
