Linear encoders ride above a magnetically coded strip to sense extremely accurate linear position as they move. The coded strip is available with adhesive-backed flexible tape or as a rigid rail. Quadrature output provides 0.01mm precision with magnetic strip lengths up to 20 meters.

Linear Encoders

The Lika medium-duty incremental linear encoders combine a sliding encoder body and a magnetically coded strip to provide extremely accurate linear position over distances up to 20 meters. A quadrature output results in accuracy up to 0.01mm, with single-increment repeatability (0.01mm/count) at speeds up to 20 m/s.
- AME95 series IP67 encoder bodies are user-positioned above adhesive-backed elastomer tape
- ATI series tape is available in lengths up to 20 meters and can be cut to length
- Stainless steel cover material is provided to protect the tape
- End clamps are available to protect the ends and provide additional mounting security
- AMIG series IP65 encoder bodies are captive-to and slide along a rigid rail
- ATIG series aluminum rails contain and protect the magnetically coded material
- Sliding arrangement maintains the proper positional gap
- Single bolt mounting provides alignment flexibility
- Rails are available in six lengths, from 195mm to 650mm
- Support for both line driver (differential) or push-pull (totem) output types
- Available with integrated two-meter pigtail cables or 8-pin M12 quick disconnects
- M12 cables are available in two-meter, shielded, continuous-flexing variants for use in cable carrier drag chain
