Fail-safe inductive proximity sensors can be connected to a safety relay that accepts OSSD input when metal detection in fail-safe applications is required. Models are available in 12mm, 18mm, and 30mm tubular and cube form factors, and in flush and non-flush mounting styles.

Category Selection
With machinery, a faulty sensor could lead to unexpected movements, collisions, or other dangerous situations. A fail-safe sensor is designed to trigger a safe state (like stopping a machine) if it fails, reducing the risk of injury to personnel or damage to equipment.
Fail-safe inductive sensors are a type of proximity sensor with OSSD outputs that are ideal for safety applications requiring the detection of metal at close distances. Safe state position may be determined by target present or not present, depending on model.
