Dual Shaft and Encoder Stepper Motors

IP40 dual-shaft square frame stepper motors provide a holding torque up to 4532 oz-in. The second shaft can drive an encoder for closed-loop control. Certain NEMA sizes also offer a programmable encoder pre-installed.

For applications that require closed-loop monitoring using encoders, the dual-shaft motor configuration is ideal. The extra shaft allows for mounting of encoders, brakes, sensors, etc. without interfering with the main drive shaft. These motors can also be used to to drive two applications using one motor.
- Square frame step motor style produces high torque
- 2-phase bipolar, 4-lead
- 1.8° per step, 200 steps per revolution
- NEMA 14, 17, 23, 34 and 42 mounting flanges
- Holding torque ranges from 8 to 4532 oz-in
- Optional 6, 10, or 20-foot extension cables with locking connectors
- Position feedback encoder included in motors with an “E” part number
- Encoder adapter plate available (only necessary for mounting encoders to NEMA 42 motors)
