Many sensors and actuators, including photoelectric sensors and solenoid valves, utilize AC signals; these devices can be added to a DirectLOGIC control system using AC inputs/outputs.
DirectLOGIC PLCs are not intended for new system development, please consider our latest lines of controllers (Do-more, Productivity, or CLICK) for new installations.

The DL05 micro-brick PLC comes with different combinations of built-in AC inputs and/or outputs. If additional AC inputs are needed, the DL05 PLC provides a single option module slot that can be used to add up to 8 additional AC inputs.
The DL06 expandable micro-brick PLC comes with up to 36 AC I/O points built in. For applications requiring more AC inputs that what the built-in I/O provides, up to 4 AC input expansion modules can be added to the PLC for up to 32 additional AC inputs.
For the modular DL205 CPU to monitor and control AC devices, AC I/O modules are required. DL205 PLC AC I/O modules are available in several configurations with up to 16 inputs or 12 outputs.
All of the AC I/O modules for the DL305 PLC series have been discontinued. However, a limited number of modules is still available for purchase.
The rack-based DL405 PLC series requires an AC I/O module in order for the CPU to process AC control signals. DL405 AC I/O modules provide up to 16 input or output points in a range of voltage levels.
