Category Selection
DirectLOGIC CPUs/PLCs have serial and/or Ethernet communication ports built in. These ports support an assortment of industrial protocols including Modbus RTU, serial ASCII, and Modbus TCP. For most applications, the communication ports provided by the CPU/PLC unit is sufficient. For more capability or capacity, networking expansion modules are available to add more serial and/or Ethernet ports. Converter modules are also available to perform any required serial protocol conversions.

The D2-DCM Data Communications Module provides one serial communication port and can serve as a DirectNET master/slave, DirectNET peer, or a Modbus RTU slave.
The H2-ECOM100 module supports the industry standard Modbus TCP/IP Client/Server protocol in addition to the standard IP and IPX protocols. This allows the DL205 PLC with an H2-ECOM100 module to serve as a client (master) or as a server (slave) on a Modbus TCP/IP Ethernet network.
The three-port H2-SERIO and H2-SERIO-4 modules add serial ports to a DL205 PLC system.
All DL405 CPUs support the D4-DCM Data Communications Module that can be configured as a DirectNET master/slave, DirectNET peer, or a Modbus RTU slave.
The H4-ECOM100 module supports 10/100BaseT and the industry standard Modbus TCP/IP Client/Server protocol.
The F4-MAS-MB Modbus Network Master module allows the DL405 PLC to serve as a network Client for a Modbus RTU network. This module communicates with any network Server using high level Modbus commands.
