Many applications rely on digital or discrete control devices that transmit and receive ON/OFF signals using DC voltage, such as limit switches, stacklights, and proximity sensors. These devices are used extensively in industrial automation. For DirectLOGIC PLCs to monitor and control devices such as these, DC I/O is needed.
DirectLOGIC PLCs are not intended for new system development, please consider our latest lines of controllers (Do-more, Productivity, or CLICK) for new installations.

The DL05 micro-brick PLC comes with different combinations of built-in DC inputs and/or outputs. If additional DC I/O is needed, the DL05 PLC provides a single option module slot that can be used to add up to 16 additional DC I/O points.
The DL06 expandable micro-brick PLC comes with up to 36 DC I/O points built in. For applications requiring more DC I/O that what the built-in I/O provides, up to four DC I/O expansion modules can be added to the PLC for up to 64 additional DC I/O points.
For the modular DL205 CPU to monitor and control DC devices, DC I/O modules are required. DL205 PLC DC I/O modules are available in several configurations with 4 to 32 points and support for a variety of voltage signals.
The DirectLOGIC 305 PLC discrete input module provides 16 sinking and/or sourcing, 5 VDC or 12-24 VDC inputs. A limited number of products are still available.
The DL405 PLC series offers several DC I/O modules with high-density versions available that are capable of up to 64 inputs or outputs in a single module.
