This instruction is used to force a software or hardware watchdog error condition. This typically is used for testing purposes. Being able to induce a watchdog error is valuable for making sure that your machine design is safe if such an error occurs. The triggering of these errors can be seen from the system status or the Event log. If the input logic to this instruction is retentive, and the Mode Switch is in either the RUN or TERM position, the controller will execute the Force Watchdog Error instruction continuously. Place the Mode switch in the STOP position to break out of this condition.
